An update for you - I was on the road Deadline Weekend, hitting a derby in Brookfield NY before going east to Brockton, Mass for a show Sunday afternoon. I drove back home 7 hrs overnight, and worked Monday & Tuesday.
We had a live remote in Brewerton, NY Thursday night w/ The 31st Lap, and we will be doing a live show tonight from Syracuse, NY, live shows Saturday Morning and Saturday Afternoon in Syracuse, Saturday Night in Elbridge, NY (World of Outlaws Sprint Cars) and then Sunday Morning and Sunday Afternoon in Syracuse, NY. I'm at the office with the broke-down lawn mowers during the day.
This is Super DIRT Week, with dirt track races all over Central NY.
I'll be getting back into the editing derby videos and compiling results for HH3 swing after the weekend.

Results will post tonight. I went through and double checked the math, and compiled in the last card that was turned in Friday night.
It took a little longer than I anticipated, so for that I do apologize. The judges worked hard to make sure this was accurate.
Some of the highest scores EVER turned in were logged in this contest.
This contest has taken a lot. I thank everyone who has built and entered these wonderful cars.
It was close, and it was varied. People saw a lot of different things introduced. I had my own favorites. I believe the 38Spc car has the best interior detail I've ever seen. Many, many cars have stepped up and answered the call to build out of your mind. Doc's Lincoln and the Jr. Hearse were great builds, as well.
Thanks to everyone, and congratulations.
Some house keeping: a few things came back as recurring themes. For starters, and above all: bumpers. Bumpers are the easiest spot to give points away on. If your car is rolling like mad, or the front is a skyscraper, the bumper would not be brand new. I don't care where you live, or what you've seen. I don't wnat to hear anything about loaded this or stuffed that. They bend. They gouge. They get the corners rolled or tweaked, the u-out between the mounts. They change from showroom new. Focus on that for future events.
Frames and driveshafts are another hanging point. Some stunning work with body mounts and drive trains, others were disappointingly lack-luster. Pay close attention to those, nice work on the coil springs. Saw lots and lots of those this year. Paint your frames and give them some depth and life. Think about it - even a clean car has scale, or high/low oxidations to it, even if you can 'eat' off it.
Transmissions - lots of creative and exotic brace work, they recieved high marks and appereciation.
Get outside, get pics in cinders, fairgrounds, garages, dioramas, trailers...

Furthermore:
I am seriously considering getting out of this. This takes a lot of work, and there is virtually no return in it. Not financially; not my point. There is one person out of 18 or 23 or whatever that will be happy. And I'm going to take the majority of the hell for it. And frankly, I don't want to be in that spot any more.
I'm tired of being put in the position of ... 'my car didn't get featured here because of you or whatever' or, 'I'm all done with building if I don't beat this or that,' or, 'this guy did this back when so he shouldn't get scored...'
You enter your car and put it under the microscope and where it lands, it lands. I'm tired of being accused of fixing, rigging, favorites, all the bogus barbs that get thrown in the wake of these contests. Done with it. Totally done with it.
I mean - it goes like this:
Builder: I got **insert finish position**. He was this, this and this and I was this this and this. You are a joke. Me: I'm a joke? You entered the car... It was judged, and you placed here this time. Builder: You are a joke. Your judges suck. You don't know what you're doing. I'm done with models. I'm not building for one of your contests again. Builder: Oh, and I just PM'ed you my address so you can send my prize out.
Bonus points are done for 2013. It's too much of a hassle. Trailer and setting will remain. But the early stuff, first time stuff... I think it's on the way out. Everyone got their 10+ or 7+ or 5+ or whatever combination. But for people to tell me they didn't get in early because they didn't know is a little disappointing. I tried to be agreeable to as much as I can. These are models, and this is not life and death.
Deadline in the future will be 11:59 your local time. I extended it to Midnight West coast due to the problems people had with PB. I was made aware of at least a halfdozen builders having troubles. I don't see where 2 or 3 hours - especially when the problem was found while posting pics - could make that much of a swing in building success. Besides, this is the internet. Anyone could have said they were off to visit their Uncle Pete in Santa Barbara, and were taking their model in a carry-on to finish on the plane out west, and they would have to post that time because the flight wouldn't land. Whatever. There are ways around anything. How am I going to know if you do or don't have business on the west coast. Photobucket sucks - get your stuff done earlier and get around it.

Don't misunderstand this... you're all welcome and it is usually a pleasure doing these for you guys. I enjoy the sport, and seeing where the numbers fall and the swings as the cards play out.
I'm not saying 'I don't know if I will continue' just to get all you to say kind things and pad my ego. It's not about that...
This was an amazing contest. Not as many cars as last year - and two judges thanked me for that (so did my wife)... Incredible builds, very hard to score...
