I am a fan of the V-8 vegas and have been looking on ebay for almost a year trying to find a '71-'73 to build. I found and bought a '76 first (gluebomb) that came as a package deal with 4 others. I think the cars were under $2 each (counting shipping). But they were in horrible condition. I was going to try to take the '76 and make it into the '71-'73 style I like. I went ahead and I also bought a (modelhaus) '72 grille and bumper on ebay. I would need to change the taillights and and front end to make my '76 a '72. Recently, I found an actual MPC '72 that I bought for a fair price. The body was undamaged and in good condition. It came with everything except the wheels, tires, bumper, grille, dash, steering wheel, windows, and engine. Which was perfect for me since I already had nearly all of those parts. I am also going to salvage some of the interior parts out of the '76. The only problem I will have is the missing windows, since the '76s are crusted with glue and broken. I might make a garage seen with the completed '72 V-8 vega, and the rusty battered '76 parts car out back.

those are awsome man, ill buy the 76 for my junkyard lol, ill try to find you some windows, you might be able to use a set of wndows out of one of the Fresh cherrys diecast vega, i think the die cast ones run about $12 to $15 not bad for a set of windows if they will work and then youll have another vega to "junk out" just an idea lol

Yea, I bought a fresh cherries vega, and had that bright idea one day...no such luck. The fresh cherries kit is different and the glass wont fit. Oh well. I bought an assorted bag of stryene and it came with thin sheets of clear styrene, those could be used for making the side windows and possibly the front and rear windsheild, if they arent too curved.

I still have them. I havent lost interest in them either, I've just been collecting parts for them while working on other models. I really need a set of windows, but they're pretty hard to find.

Yeah, I pulled this one back out again. I was tired of searching Ebay for parts so I scratchbuild quarter windows from clear sheet plastic and I built the front and back windows from left over windows from a derby car I built. I believe the windows came from a Mercury Park Lane and I trimmed them down to fit. I also fit in a dash from a chevelle I built into a derby car. Its a wonder I never threw the dash away.
Engine will be a small block chevy from the USA-1 kit. I'll fit a tunnel ram on it.
Hope to update this thread with pictures.
