Anybody have any tips on making a car look pre-run. I can't figure out how to make the dents look more realistic. Mine are too rounded.

i bend mine, than i cut the eages that look to rounded i havent had to do it on all the bends yet but im sure it would work to get ride of the roundness

i light a candle then you hold the flame to the spot you want then take a metal rod and push to make the dent how you want it

What do you use for a heat source?? I always use a lighter but it gets too hot in too big of a spot. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

i tend to use either a "wind resistint" or butaine ligher that has mostly just a small blue flame and does a small area at a time

i hate maches for bending them, takes to many and tends to leave the black color like if you use a candle. i use a bic lighter set on low, to med. depending on what you are going at, for pass side doors i use more heat to bend the hole thing in at wonce, then us low heat to shape it. the ass end i use low but alot of it to get it to bend evenly at first, again i then go over it to refine the smaller dents.

I'm findin out more and more that alot of it the plastic your workin with. The bubble vics have to be the thickest plastic of any car I've worked on.

i may get mage fun of but i cut the doors out and the front fenders and rear quarters and stuff out so its like a skeleton and i use the heavy duty thick aluminum foil fold it about 4 times so its kinda thick but u can still see the bodylines when u press it down and it rips like real sheetmetal on a derby car and it looks great but put the shiny side in or u cant paint it very well itll take alotta practice but its well worth it if u do it right so jus be really creative and u can even make a front end and back end out of 60/40 solder and cover it and ip bends up real nice and realistic

I use wax paper and a heat gun for the big spots and a bic for the small
