Hey, Y'all don't know me I'm new here but I hope y'all can understand where hillbilly is coming from. He isn't just making a stand for demolition derby models. He's making a stand about model building in general. A long time ago it was considered childish for grown men to build models and it was even to the point of seeing adults sending their kids into a hobby shop to buy models and paints so they wouldn't feel embarrassed when the adult clerk looked at them like why are you buying a kids toy. Now we have come a long way from those days. But the point hillbilly and I'm making is we have model knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation an we want to share it with all model builders like they were our blood kin and this forum is a great place to do it. I'm from North Carolina and my dad was a redneck that wore white socks and drank Blue Ribbon Beer and he was a model builder who liked Fred Lorenzen and he built a number of his nascars. He wasn't the greatest modeler but he taught me the basics and he made me understand to take your time and listen to other modelers when they give you advice and our years of knowledge what we want to give back now that the new generations of modelers are coming up thirsting for knowledge. I have built hundreds of models over the years, won awards, been to a ton of model shows but an old modeler can still get inspired by somebody like hillbilly here's how. I've never built a Demolition Derby model. I love to go to see the derbys and loved them as a kid. I stumbled upon this forum and saw some cool demo car builds and then I found hillbillys you tube channel and when I watched his videos and he would talk about passing down his knowledge of model building and talking about being a family of modelers. I knew he was the real deal, What he said was exactly how I felt about model building and now he and his how to videos inspired me to build my first derby car which I'm working on now and man I'm all about some derby cars now so watch out. I guess the lesson from all of this is let's build models and learn from each other and can the drama. ;D

ok guys.... Josh here... this site is NOT leaving, so please keep posting, there will be some changes, and eventully a posible new owner BUT this place is the largest model derby site and I and any future owner/opperaters, plan to keep it that way, so as long as chris is game, all contest will stay as planned for many years to come,
mods and other positions...... there will only be 1 admin, this place needs to stay simple, IF Chris needs to be a mod to work on the contests, he can have the position, so chris, if you need the position back so you can get the contests set up and all of that, just send me a PM here or on facebook, or give me a ring,
this site has always had the problem where there are too many chiefs and not enough indians,
i WILL keep everybody updated with the new owner/operator as i learn more,
keep in mind that this place is here and is NOT going anywhere, just keep an eye for changes here and there
i hope this settles everybodys heads alittle
thank you Josh
